This last week
was great. But it was also just a little off. Not totally sure why. We had some
wonderful lessons and great contacting. We just couldn't get members there, partly because we asked the day-of or the day-before. We think it was having P-day
on a different day, or I am not totally sure. Also sorry for not emailing on Monday again. Our place we email was closed again. We almost didn't have time zase [again].
We had lesson a lesson with set up with Veronika this morning, but she had to cancel because
she was going to the doctor. We have hope and faith that she will continue to
grow if she following the commandments.
Tomas, our way-progressing investigator hasn't answered our calls? He was so golden.... My heart
is really sad about it. He was literally choosing a baptism date. So if you want to
pray that he will answer our calls, that would be really okay.:(
Andrew and his
girlfriend Petra are coming to English again but an hour early so we can meet.
We are teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We already invited him to be
baptized, and he already agreed. So today we hopefully will be choosing a specific
day. We are so excited, and hope they will both be on the same page and that we
can start working with Petra his girlfriend also. We have faith they will be
like Jakie and Caleb in the pmg [Preach My Gospel] videos.
We also had a
wonderful lesson with a newer investigator named Petra. She is around our age. We
taught The Restoration. It went really good. When we ending talking about Joseph
Smith, she was crying. We think she didn't understand why. When Sister Heap and I
said, "God answers our prayers," she asked for specific experiences from both of us. We shared them with her and shared in the pamphlet how she can receive her own.
At the end of the meeting, we asked when she wanted to have the next meeting--she
surprisingly explained that she still didn't believe in God. We also asked her
to read in the Book of Mormon, and we would follow-up with how it went the next
week. After, Sister Heap and I asked each other if we felt the spirit after
talking about the Joseph Smith story. We both felt the same and know that Petra
was probably feeling the same. I have really had my testimony strengthened
by the power story of the Restoration this transfer. You can just feel the
energy when we talk about it or explain it.
We also met
with two "formers" Denisa and Lubos. Densia is wonderful, but like the other
missionaries I feel like she could use some more time to be ready. Lubos, we
figuried out, has taken all the lessons but has only read a couple chapters in
the Book of Mormon. Like Petra we challenged him to read and will follow-up with
him this week.
We visted the
Novakovis to help teach their daughter English. We shared a thought for Easter
and taught her English. We asked them if they were coming to church for Easter
and they said that they would most likely come. Sadly, they didn't come. We
think we will bring a member next time to make the visit more effective. Also
visited the Gunorovi and it went well.
Okay, I have ten
minutes and I am a slow writer but I will just bust this story out. Last night we
were coming home from a lesson late, a different way, when we saw one of our LA [less active] members, Lenka, on her balcony calling out for us. From the balcony, what we
heard was that she had fallen and someone said that there was no God and that
she experienced this pain she never felt before. We told her to come down so we
could understand her better and comfort her. She came down in her pajamas and
with a backpack and took us to a grove of near by trees. She explained (yelled)
more in detail that there was a devil that entered into her and that it was in
her heart and that it felt worse then a knife and that the doctors can't help
her. She said that when she prayed today God said it would be gone tomorrow.
Not really to much to do we asked if we could pray we knelt and my sweet
companion said the sweetest prayer she could say in that situation as Lenka was
hanging onto our shoulders. After she was done, Lenka decided to add her words as
well. As she said the most passionate Catholic prayers I have ever heard and
went on and on. As people walked by, it seemed like she yelled to God louder. Yes. So that was the most interesting dinner hour I've experienced.
Easter was a
beautiful day I am so thankful we get to celebrate the beautiful life of Jesus
Christ. Our members are so great. We taught Sunday School with a night's notice, and thanks to the members in our branch, it went so well. The people of Jihlava are
so great. (Even if they use their agency to not answer our phone calls). We also
visted Trebic and members there which are sooo great. I still have lots of hope I
will serve there.
Our
Father in Heaven is divine and Jesus Christ lives as ruler over all.
